Well, we made it safe and sound! The flight was about 7 hours long but did not seem too bad. We were served two meals onboard and had two movies along with several TV shows to watch. Time went by quite fast. I didn't really sleep on the plane but I am feeling pretty well just the same! Not too tired or anything...yet. I was able to take a shower which really helped too! We were welcomed to Manchester with gloomy skies and rainy weather! Nonetheless, this is a very enchanting and fabulous place. On our drive to Liverpool, we passed many cute little neighborhoods a la the Dursley's from Harry Potter!
The rooms here are very nice! I have my own bathroom and my single room is bigger than the room that I shared with Mieke this year. But let me tell you, there are so many little differences here that really make a difference! For example, the @ sign on British keyboards is where the quotation mark buttons would be on an American computer. The shift and enter keys are much too small and my fingers are having trouble reachin them! Thankfully I brought my laptop!
The whole driving on the wrong side of the road thing really messes with your mind! Crossing the road takes on a whole new level of difficulty! British drivers are ruthless, if you don't walk fast enough, I wouldn't be surpirsed if you got hit!
It is about 10:15 am here so I hope to write again tonight after my first full day here!
Pip pip cheerio!
